$300 credit? Nope. Another unfair advertising scam. Any existing customers benefit from it?

I've received emails and read on the web site that if I trade in my phone I will get a $300 credit. It doesn't say up to$300, it says $300 credit. One chat agent said I'd have to call the trade in line and gave me the number - but there is no option to talk to a live person to get the promo code. When I went to the Verizon store I was told the $300 credit was only for new customers and my phone was only worth $20-what a joke. It doesn't say that anywhere on the ads about the credit. Why? To lure you in and get you to buy that phone on the spot from their sales people wearing ugly Christmas sweaters. Is this really the case - the $300 credit is only for new customers?

To my knowledge, yes, at least if it's the same promotion as the one I recently saw while browsing for a new android phone. On the website at least, when you go to select the phone, it says in fine print that in order to get the trade-in credit you need to either be switching to Verizon or adding a new line, so it's possible for existing customers to get it, but not on an existing line. Hope this helps to clarify.

to get the $300 you would have to be trading in a Turbo. That is the only phone that is getting the $300 bucks. I had this same conversation with Verizon and got no were. They even refused to answer in these community groups. Verizon is a joke as far as customer service. As far as their ad's they are for get new customers and that is all they are worried about. don't count on any help from them. the ONLY thing you can count on is the service areas. That the only reason I'm still stuck with them, the other carriers don't have service where I work and that is what I count on when I am on my 24 hour shifts.

Its called a violation of UDAP Law (Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices. Please contact the FTC and file a complaint. I was a victim as well. It took Verizon Customer Service 5 months to tell me that I was not going to get a credit. While they received my iPhone 5s in pristine condition and I'm sure re-sold it for the $300.00 they failed to give me.

The language is not explicit regarding that refund and it should be, it's required by law. Also, why don't their own employees know their own policy and procedures?

good luck with that issue to be resolved by contacting FTC and if you get credit applied please do share here so other can follow as well to resolve credit issue if any have/had.......:)
