I want to get rid of my Jetpack and use the phone to connect my laptop. Will extensive use of Mobile Hotspot on a Galaxy S3 damage the phone?
Nope. The phone was designed with this being a feature in mind. If the phone is getting too hot to the touch, the heat may shorten it's lifespan, but that's true with any other electronic device.
