Is there a cost to access a mobile hotspot?

I have the More Everything Plan Unlimited Talk/Text w/500mb data. Have begun RVing a bit and find the 500mb data not enough when I'm traveling. At one time added increased data for a month then changed it back but, the extra billing hit me for 2 months instead of the one (even though I changed it back within 5 days and well within the billing cycle). Most of the time I am around good wireless signals not needing the extra data on phone. However, there are times I am not.

Here is my dilemma: Currently, I pay $40 for line access phone, $20 for 500mb data plus $7.85 in fees and taxes. It appears I can change plans to the new One Plan One Size deal with current LG Android phone at the rate of $20 for line access, $60 for 6gb data plus fees and taxes. My question is.... with the change will I still be able to turn on the data usage on the phone then access it via my laptop as I do now (at no additional cost)?

Am tossing the idea around as I don't need the extra data but about 4 months out of the year and the 4 months are spead out (month at a time).

Suggestions, please................

Mobile hotspot on More Everything, and the new plans is the same - so yes, you will be able to access it the same way, for no additional cost. The line access fee, as MiiHere pointed out, is $20 for out of contract lines, and $40 for lines in contract, until the contract expires, and it then drops to $20.

If you are currently in contract, which it sounds like you are if you're paying $40 for your line access fee, your line access fee will NOT drop to $20 on the new plan. You must first finish the contract.

Am I correct to assume when my contract ends in February 2016 the $40 charge will automatically drop to $20? If so, that would consider changing to the One Plan One Size deal and again..... assume.... it will lock me into another 2 year contract.

Your monthly fee won't drop automatically you will need to call Verizon
