I have been put on an extended payment plan in order to finish paying off my verizon bill and getting off contract which ends in February. Verizon is aware that I am wanting to go to prepaid and discuss this in length. Since there is already a payment plan in place and my account is suspended, I need to be able to put the phones I have on prepaid now so that I can have a way to contact my clients and family.

I'm not sure that can be done with the phones that are suspended. They are suspended until the bill is current; you said you have payment arrangements in place but until the bill is current, the phones/lines/phone numbers remain suspended.

Temporary, cheap, "throwaway" prepaid phones may be your only option until the Verizon bill is current. At least not with the same phones and same numbers....

You can take your current phone and use on prepaid, but your number is going to be tied up with your current financial obligations.
