I have a turbo charger for my Droid Turbo phone - should that be OK to use on the Ellipsis 8?
No, unfortunately it will not work. We have the Ellipsis 8 and it is required to always use the factory wall plug and USB cable.
It WILL charge the tablet, but no faster than the OEM charger. It is recommended to use the factory supplied charger; I have used the Turbo charger, though. It does work.
Yes, technically it will charge the device as will other micro USB chargers. But I was saying no to the fact it will not "turbo" charge the Ellipsis. We have had challenges with our son's Ellipsis tablet and were advised several times to always use the factory charger including the wall plug and cable.
You are correct - it will not turbo (fast) charge the tablet. I was answering the OP's question about using the turbo charger on the Ellipsis 8. Yes, it's OK to use the turbo charger.
Using the factory supplied OEM charger and cable is always recommended - alternatives do work though.
