Does Verizon (prepaid) plan to carry the just announced 2015 version of the G? I have no idea if anyone from the company reads this, but if anyone has seen this answer anywhere else, please respond. Does Verizon (prepaid) plan to carry the just announced 2015 version of the G? I have no idea if anyone from the company reads this, but if anyone has seen this answer anywhere else, please respond.

Seems doubtful. Probably saving that spot for their droid line so they can make sure the phone is ruined and comes with all sorts of Verizon bloatware and slow upgrade times.

I'm thinking it is time to switch to T-mobile. I am tired of not having a single good option for a budget phone or a phone that is less that 5.2".

I just had a chat with Verizon and they couldn't even answer this question. I had to paste in the phones specs and they said "maybe"!

Soooooo close to moving to T-Mobile! Unfortunately, the coverage isn't as good in my area. :smileysad:

It's really only missing band 13 for Verizon LTE. That's used for XLTE, but not a must-have. It's more a question of having VZW recognize the phone since, much like the Google Nexus 6, the IMEI wont be in Verizon's data base. Of course, there are work arounds with the SIM activation, but there were other account issues that followed a successful N6 activation as well.

What is the difference between a pre-paid device and a contract device? They all use the same service? Why are phones grouped as pre-paid being cheap and post-pay ridiculously expensive with ridiculous screens? When is Verizon simply going to let me go pick the best phone for my needs and bring it to the network?

I can already do this with some phones, just pop a new sim card in, the problem is Verizon refusing to allow phone makers to make a phone that works on their network without it being sold through Verizon.

No. That song use all the same service have the same coverage or the same features. I use an LG G2 on prepaid.

The CDMA network bands might also be different too from the ones Verizon Wireless uses, but I don't know which specific frequencies are used on VZW vs the other carriers listed.

I have absolutely no idea what I was trying to say in post 6. Auto-correct on the mobile community pretty much made no sense here. However, the bands of CDMA aren't displayed here and most likely play a role in compatibility I'm sure. I reference Droid-Life who references Wikipedia.
