Data Usage Seems Too High

I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for years upon years now. Monitoring my data usage has always been a top priority and something I insured was not exceeded. However, the last couple of months I seem to be increasingly using my data limit faster than usual.

After investigating my usage with my various family members, there was no known increase in any device. What could be happening. Why is the data running out so soon?

I need help and guidance now please. Thanks!

During your research, what did the devices say under settings/usage as being the culprit? On iPhones it's under settings/cellular.

Keep in mind this log can ce cleared and deleted and on android it is automatically done, I believe after a full charge.

I would look to see which device used the most GB and start at their usage log. However if it's been too long, it will ce cleared already.

Another option is to check the useage from each device through myverizon. Also you can use the data utilisation tool in the same area of your online account.

These are all good tips and I thank you for taking the time out to reply to my post. I wonder if it would be possible if there could be an error on Verizon's behalf? What do you two think?

Honestly, I don't. That's not to say they have never incorrectly billed someone, or perhaps added up the reported usage wrong, which is something else you can do, however it will take ages if you have multiple lines.

But the majority of the time it can be explained by looking in your usage log on the device. Perhaps an app got stuck sending or receiving, or all the phones are set to automatically download app updates, or back up to the cloud while on cellular data and not only wifi.

Automatic download would explain it, especially if all devices recently updated OS. If you recently switched any devices that may have been older 3g to newer 4g devices.

Do you have access to Wi-Fi at any time? Connecting to Wi-Fi will not debit from your data allowance. This will help with managing your data allowance on your lines, as well.

I do connect to Wi-Fi at home. I actually have Verizon files and I enjoyed extremely. I never go over the 10 gigs but I'm noticing that I'm close to it already. I'm wondering if there's anything as far as a miscalculation on Verizon's behalf.
