I cannot call or receive calls but I can text and an email just fine what's the problem
If you did touch the gold contacts, yes ... that could have affected the SIM card -- it happens sometimes. SIM cards can also go bad As mentioned earlier, head to your local Corporate VzW store and you can get a replacement SIM card free of charge. If you have access to another phone, you also can contact Customer Service at 800-922-0204 or by using the chat feature (click the Contact Us link at the top of the screen if you're using the desktop version of the forum).
Could be an outage in your area. Have you tried turning off the phone, removing the SIM card, waiting a few minutes, then reinserting the SIM card and allowing it to establish a fresh network connection?
How do I do that... I don't put it in. This was a gift???

I found the simscard... Took it out and put it back and the phone still
says no Sims card
