my iphone has to be restarted in order to turn off alarm. WHY?

in order to turn off my morning alarm i have to hold the power and home button until the apple symbol pops up on my screen. no other buttons have any change in the phone. screen will just stay black. it has been happening since the new updates. Anyone have an answer or solution?

I have not heard this. If you can replicate it (e.g. it does it more than the 1 time) I would suggest adding it over on the Apple Forums. If it is a bug then they will look into it as well. Official | Apple Support Communities
