Typing notifications not working

I have the typing notification enabled on my phone in Verizon Messages, and so does my friend. For some reason, it's not showing the notifications on either of our phones. Everyone else who uses Verizon Messages, shows the notifications on my phone. Why would it not be working with just one person? We're both on Android, and both are on Verizon Wireless.

Verizon messages is a great service and I want you to get the most from our app. Has the typing notification ever worked on your phone for that person? What is the make and model of your device? Any recent changes on your phone?

I have the LG G4, and haven't changed anything. The feature has never worked with that person. Like I said, it works fine with everyone else, except her. Could it be that she's using a prepaid Verizon phone?

Let's get the text message notification working. Even if customer does have a prepaid phone you should still receive the notifications. Is the app up to date on your phone http://vz.to/1FpisXk? Is it just the Verizon messages app that you have a trouble with notifications?

You are misunderstanding my issue. I'm getting notifications when I receive text messages. The issue I'm having, is that I have the option enabled that says "show typing notifications", which means I would get a notification saying so and so is typing. It works with everyone except the person with the prepaid phone. We are both using the sdame version of Verizon Messages, and we both made sure we both have the option enabled.

Thanks for clarifying. I definitely understand your situation. The option within the Verizon Messages application for seeing when the other party is typing a reply is not working between you and this specific recipient (prepaid customer). Is that correct?

This was a feature enhancement to the Verizon Messages 4.3 application version. Can you confirm with the other party if they have the latest Verizon Messages application version?

One thing could be is one of you may be getting a bad signal or on a tower that is not a roaming network of Verizon that will not let you see when they are typing a message I believe. Try both of you be connected to the same source and see if it still does not show when they are typing that would be the best way to trouble shoot it. Be connected to the same wifi and have the same signal on your phone like being right in front of each other and see if it works. If it does it could be signal related and if does not work then it is device related. That is my opinion.

We're sitting right in front of each other now, and it's not working. I just doubled checked, we're both on 6.1.1, and we both have the feature enabled.

You can try disabling the application and then enable it. That will reset its settings. Always take a backup before doing such.

At this point, I've just given up. It must have something to do with her phone being a prepaid phone. That's the only difference between the two of us. We're both on Android, both on Verizon Wireless, and are both using the same version of Messages +
