Xperia Z3v still no software update

While Marshmallow begins to roll out, Sony Xperia z3v users are still stuck on KitKat. What is the hold up? All other xperia (non-verizon) devices have had Lollipop for almost a year. Verizon, release the update already. Why did you even make your own version of the xperia z3 phone if you were never going to support it? When will the update be released?

Support it? Heck they didn't even sell it for a YEAR. Glad it had wireless charging and larger battery, but wish it got the normal updates. Hoping we get our update and also...

This phone will never get an update. Best option is to look into rooting your phone and installing the update from Sony yourself.

Since Verizon had officially announced that they WOULD be upgrading the z3v to Lollipop when it was put on-sale, they are now reneging on a promise that was used to sell the phones. This could very well be grounds for an FTC complaint, or possibly a class-action lawsuit. Any lawyer z3v owners ready to go after them?

If someone out there thinks it's really legally feasible, yes.

At the very least, this experience has taught me not to trust Verizon and to never buy a phone directly from them again, no matter how good it is, new. My next phone will have to be a Nexus or an iPhone.
