Why can't I get reception?

I live in hazlewood in leander texas and have been trying to get reception in my home for a while. Other family members use a different service and have no issues.. I talked with a neighbor and he told me Verizon offered some sort of extender for his home.. and it works great.. is this something I can get? I seriously can't use my phone on the first floor of my home and I use it for business

Wireless is a no guarantees service. Unless you pay a mad amount of money for something like point to point microwave with an SLA. If it doesn't work inside, this could be for any number of reasons an RF engineer would have to take time and explain. As such the wireless either needs to be helped or it is what it is. At my home for example, I can catch an XLTE signal, an LTE signal, a 3G only signal, or a 1X only signal depending on where I am on my lawn. Everything is a reflection of a signal, as I'm in a rural area where towers are far and few.

As a heads up, I do not work for Verizon. I'm a customer of theirs. Verizon does not typically provide extenders for free.

As a low cost solution, install Verizon Messages+ and have it assist with allowing you to place calls using your Wi-Fi. This can be a workaround until the FCC grants Verizon permission to make Wi-Fi calling into the phone OS. This will work at the mercy of your Wi-Fi, home broadband, and at the mercy of the Internet.

I also meant to ask - is the signal in the problem area LTE or 3G or 1X? 1X is the core calling network. If you are on LTE and have trouble, make sure Advanced Calling isn't enabled.
