Phone resending old texts

I just switched from a Galaxy Note II to the Note 5. This morning I restarted teh Note 5 and had alreay sync'd with the cloud. I'm hearing from many of my contacts that they got messages from me that I didn't send and I don't see. I've learned that my phone has resent some old text messages randomly. What is the cause? Solution? and is there anyway to see what was sent?

We want your transition to your new device to be as smooth as possible. Which messaging application do you use on your phone? Based on what folks have been telling you, was there any specific period that the old messages are from? Do you know if people are still getting messages now? Keep us posted. Thanks.
