The sleep / wake AKA power button will depress but nothing happens. can that be fixed?

Ensuring the power button functions correctly is very important MegD. Lets get your phone up and running. When did it stop working? Is there any physical or water damage to the phone? Did you recently make any changes to your phone such as installing any new apps or software?
