My last phone received an "update notice" from the manufacturer that, after accepting and installing, turned my phone into a "brick!"
I requested a replacement, only to be told that I would have to pay a $150.00 "administrative fee" (and, send in my phone, for recycling), in order to get it!!!
I was NEVER told of such hidden fees (in print, or otherwise), and it made the fact that I had been paying $7.00 every month (for years), for this "recommended" plan, a REAL rip-off!!!!!
It was a system update, that destroyed my unit, but the company just shrugged their shoulders and refused to take responsability.....
MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!!
NOT . . . CUSTOMER CARE!!!!!
It would have cost FAR less to just buy a used phone, than to pay the monthly fee for this "replacement" plan!!!
