This is my first smart phone but the previous "dumb" phones were much easier to connect to my computer. I have the USB cable and the computer recognizes it as an unknown device. Is there a map?
I know what you mean with smartphones having so many more options! What are you trying to accomplish by connecting your phone to your computer? (Moving files, backing up, updating it, Internet connection, charging etc). When I would connect my android phone to my computer depending on what I wanted to do after I plugged it in I would swipe down from the top of the screen to pull down the menu, and see things like 'media' 'usb' etc and select from one of those options.
