if i purchase a new phone, will i be able to retrieve any google play products that i bought on my current phone?

Hello Im looking into trying to purchase a new android phone, hopefully in the near future, with my current prepaid plan that I have had for almost a year now, but I am worried about losing all of the books, music, movies, TV shows, & games that I have bought from the google play store with my current phone. So if I do purchase a new phone, will I be able to retrieve any of my google play purchases? Or will they be lost forever? And I do NOT want to lose my google play purchases at all! Somebody please help me with this, thank you so much, have a good day!

Great question... and I believe the answer will satisfy you as well. When you purchase something on your Google Play Store, it is on record in your account as something you've purchased. So, lets say you got a new phone, and you hadn't backed up or synced or anything like that. You will be asked during setup to log in to your google account, and then later when you open your play store, you tap on the 3 lines in the top left of the screen and choose "My Apps." This will bring up a list of your downloaded and purchased apps, categorized by those on the phone and those not on the phone. Here you can redownload any purchased apps to your phone at no extra cost.

As long as you log in with the same Google account, all your "stuff" will follow you and be available on the new device. Contacts, apps, photos - sync them all with Google and they will move with you to a new Android device. It's all linked to your Google login.

Oh Ok, thank you so much! :smileyhappy::smileyhappy: s & another question for you about this subject - when I get a new phone & link my google play account, will ALL of my purchases automatically show up on my phone, or would I have to repurchase/redownload everything? The reason why Im concerned about this is cause I have ALOT of google play purchases on my phone right now - currently I have at least 200 books & over 1000 as well as numerous games, movies, & TV shows songs saved on my current phone & I really CAN NOT afford to repurchase everything, Im too poor! You will not have to repurchase. You will have to redownload them.

Just be sure you are on wifi when you start to download and update all your apps - it will use data!! What others have said is correct - no re-purchase, once you buy it's yours, but you will have to put it on the phone. You can send apps to the phone via your computer or through the phone itself, whatever works best for you.

And, if you ever decide to get an Android-based tablet, everything you have bought for your phone can be used on the tablet at no extra cost...as long as you use the same Google account when you set up the tablet.
