After I went to the Verizon store for them to fix my phone because it was freezing up and acting slow. I noticed it stopped having tones from text messages. All the tones are on in settings and in messages so idk what to do. Please help!!!

Its been going on for over a week now. Yes my ringtones, email tones, fb tones, every other tone but text message tones are working. The rep at the verizon store said my phone was "freezing up" or going super slow because of the cache from the apps so he showed me how he disabled and force stopped some of them to prevent that from happening. But ever since then my text tone hasnt worked.
Set the text tones to no sound, clear your app cache, reboot the phone, and then re-add yout text tone. Make sure when selecting your tone that the phone plays back a preview of your chosen tone (most do).
If you don't hear any sounds, go to Settings, Sounds, and make sure the volume for media and notifications is turned up.
Also, make sure your phone is not set up in Do Not Disturb mode.
