Samsung illusion phone rebooting

I have a Samsung illusion phone with NO custom ROM or root or any updates at all.. And one day out of the blue while I'm charging my phone it turns off (I was sleeping) and then I turn it on and its at this screen where it says Samsung in bold white letters (like it does when it usually boots up)  and then turns off..  And then weirdly enough,  it turns on again then off then on AGAIN.. It only lasts for about 15-20 tops then turns off.. I dont know if its a software or hardware problem..this is my last resort.. Please help!! (Personally I think its a faulty power button but that's just me)

I am very surprised to hear of the trouble you are having with this phone. Before this began was there any recent software updates or apps downloaded? You had said you suspect the power button is the culprit. Does the button stick or is there any damage around the power button?
