how can i find my Galaxy S5 serial number?

My wife's phone wont update and is stuck in recovery mode. the Verizon app for the computer wont fix it so I want to try Samsung Kies. in order to do this i need to enter the serial number, but for some reason Verizon is the one phone provider that doesn't give you this information. So how can i find out the Serial Number of this phone?

Did you remove the back of the phone and the battery and look underneath?

yeah, for some reason on the S5 its not under the battery. all it has is the IMEI number

Generally, the IMEI number is the serial number. You could always try dialing *#06# and see if it shows up on you're screen. Otherwise, contact the phone manufacturer to have them assist you in finding the serial number.

Help is here! On the Galaxy S5, the IMEI will be the specific individual identification number for the device. This can be found by going to Settings, About Phone, then Status. If you scroll down when at this menu, it will then show the device's IMEI which will identify the specific device.

The other possibility of finding the serial number of the device is on the box it originally came in. Another option is to remove the battery if removable and look at the label inside the battery compartment.
