Razr Max dropping home WiFi connection intermittently

Last week noticed it dropping WiFi signal when unplugging from charger. Now also doing it while sitting idle. When this happens, I go to settings/wifi(on) and there's no networks shown. Even Rescan doesn't find anything (mine or neighbors normally shown). It's not my modem since Desktop and tablet are connected. The signal is shown as strong on my phone and phone is within 10' of modem. This happens intermittently, and other times it finds and keeps signal fine. So far I've tried dumping old networks and even canceling current network and reestablishing same on phone. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Having WiFi for your device is not only helpful but essential, Maddi81. Have you tried restarting your router? Do you happen to know what type of router that you have? Have you tried to pick up WiFi at a McDonalds or Starbucks?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried restarting my WPA router. Note that my other devices are not being dropped. When my Razr gets in a snit, it won't pick up ANY WiFi. When asked to scan it finds nothing. My only solution is to power down, then restart. We're both happy then, since it will scan and connect. I was powering down a couple of times a day. Of interest, I tried turning off my mobile data yesterday and it didn't drop my home wifi, even when I unplugged it from my charger. I have now turned on mobile data again to see what happens. Thanks for any suggestions...would prefer to have it fully automated again.

No new apps except Wordament which was installed after this started. I do recall updating multiple apps before this started happening, but no idea which ones. No new System updates...last was in November.

I did add a desk top PC in December and am now seeing very slow internet speeds from time to time. After contacting my cable provider, I decided to upgrade my modem from 2.0 to 3.0. Will connect new modem/router combo later today. Hope new toy takes care all issues.

Of interest, I was getting good speed on my cell. Turned on desktop and speed started crawling for both devices per Speedtest. Shut down desktop, retested cell and the speed is great. I know this may be a different issue than my cell not locating any WiFi on occasion, but can see if new modem improves that. Any thoughts?

New modem/router installed at home. Razr found connection,authenticated, but because mobile data was enabled it wouldn't connect to WiFi. After I turned Razr off/on, it did connect. This is clearly a problem of 4G locking out WiFi. I NEVER have a problem with dropping WiFi if mobile data is turned off. I do not have a problem with any other wireless device, so it's not my old or new modem. Please advise.
