how do I transfer contacts from s4 to s6. s4 screen is broken an is black when phone is turned on. volumn still works, i transfered pics, but can"t get contacts.

Samsung s4 screen is broken,phone boots up with sound an screen is black.  I transferred my pictures, to my lab top but can"t get contacts (name an number). Got new s6 which I really don"t like. it requires no Sims,(can"t use Sims from s4 )an battery life is terrible, even on battery saving mode. Don"t use cloud for back up. really need help,

If your contacts are synced to your google account, then log onto the S6 with the same google account and the contacts should be there.

You said you didn't use cloud back up though, so if you have not backed them up anywhere, then the only place they are is on the phone's internal memory. 

An S6 does use a SIM card for network connection; perhaps you mean an SD card?  Either way, your contacts need to be backed up with either google, or Verizon, or some other cloud based service to get them to the new phone.  Have you tried logging in to your MyVerizon account to see if they are, by chance, backed up there?  Do you use a Google log in?  They may be backed up there too.
