I purchased the lg v10 phone on 12/20. After using it normally for ten days on 12/30 I pulled it out of my pocket to find a small hairline crack that stretches about two inches across the screen diagonally. I have never dropped it or set it down harshly and have not handled it differently than any of my previous phones and none of those have ever had a cracked screen for any reason. At first I believed it to be a scratch but I can feel that it is cracked with my fingernail. I did not purchase a screen protector or case yet because I wanted to shop around for the best one and also this phone is advertised on the LG website as having a MIL-SPEC certification for shock resistance. I wrongly assumed that this would allow me to use the phone normally until I could get a good case and screen protector.
I was very excited to get a phone with this set of features such as a removable battery, sd card slot, 4gb of ram and excellent camera. For ten days this phone worked extremely well. However, it is unacceptable for me to spend this money on a device that breaks in my pocket for no reason only ten days into ownership.
I did get the 9$ per month insurance, but it is ridiculous to have to spend upwards of 150-200$ for a deductible this soon after purchase only to get a used refurbished replacement. It is obvious that I have gotten a defective phone. A device with a MIL-SPEC certification should not just break by itself in my pocket. If a non-defective device breaks randomly like this then clearly LG and Verizon are engaged in false advertising and deceitful business practices
