contacts wont sync via SD card

>Just purchased the HTC one m9 as a upgrade. So I sent all my contacts to the SD card I had for my old phone. And then I put it into my new phone and went to the phonebook and I went to import from SD card. It prompted me with a few options for which contacts to import, I selected import all contacts. And then it would do some loading for a second. then when it is done it would show none of my contacts.

On the old phone set all of your contacts to Google Contacts. They will sync to Google and then as long as you log into your new phone with the same Google credentials, the contacts will sync to your phone. It takes only a few seconds for it to sync and then it stays very accurate.
