Trying to use S5 on friends Sprint network - won't recognize any sim card except Verizon or attempt to do so...I thought these were unlocked? Verizon support just tells me they aren't guaranteed to work as unlocked.
It is unlocked, but it has to be activated on Sprint to work. And, not all Sprint bands and frequencies are the same as Verizon's.
Thanks - that means taking it to a sprint retailer and having them put the IMEI in their system, right? I understand not all are the same.
Sprint may not import the IMEI. They do it for certain devices like the iPhone , or Nexus. Never seen them do it for other devices.
That's Sprint's call to do so, correct? Because they do have the bring your own device stuff now.
