Duplicate/multiple texts being sent for one message

During the past week, my phone has started sending multiples of one text. I respond "Lol" to a friend, and she gets it 4 times.

I've read the Verizon responses to some others posts. I do not use a 3rd party messaging app, I only use the basic Verizon messaging app.

I have the Droid Turbo Max 2.

Additionally, I have 8 unread messages that I cannot read and do not appear in my inbox. These are responses to group texts that I received. The only way they erase is if the person who previously responded to the group text sends me another text. Unfortunately, I don't know who 8 of these people were, so I can't resolve this.

Clearly this is a system issue since it's happening across multiple brands. Please advise when it will be fixed. I pay over $400 a month for my plan, I expect it to work.

Please escalate and address asap.

Your phone should not be sending duplicate messages jan2008. I am confident we will get to the bottom of this. How long has this been going on? Are the duplicate messages being sent to other people besides her? Is your Verizon Messaging application updated? If you are in a group message than you will continue to receive messages until everyone has deleted the original group message. This function is totally normal.

As my post stated, this has been happening for about a week. My messaging app is updated, version 5.1.1-23, and shows no available update.

The group messaging issue is not totally normal. Please read my post again. As people responded to the group message, I would get a notification, but when I clicked it I could not view the message. So now I still show an "8" on my messaging icon, but there are no unread messages in my inbox. There should be a way to clear this out.

It is really annoying when tech support does not fully read a post before they respond...you should be more considerate of your customer's time.
