why doesn't my phone update voicemail on wi-fi?
Are you turning your mobile data off while on Wi-Fi? The visual voicemail requires the mobile data to be functional at all times to work correctly.
i turn nothing off, 4g is always on so when i travel everything still works. the error code that comes up is 9004. in order for it to update and show vmail i have to turn off the wifi. is it a setting within the vmail app itself?
I'll admit, I rarely if ever use visual voicemail since Google Voice/Hangouts is my primary number and voicemail service. However I will try and replicate what you are seeing and get back to you with the results.
Usually not. The application itself can't reach VVM services on Wi-Fi. It's more than likely something disables Mobile data usage when the Wi-Fi is on and connected, or the app/phone itself is a problem which a software update or cache clear may solve.
that makes sense because yesterday at a spot in the area where there is no wifi, data kicked in and loaded my calls!! kind of silly actually but whatever works. thanks for your response.
