Since I have received the lollipop upgrade I have to restart my note 3 to get signals.
Try turning on Airplane mode for a few second and then turning it back off. This is much faster that reboot and usually gives the same result.
Try removing the SIM for a few, powering off, reinserting, then turn back on. Might need a network refresh since the update.
