I have been unable to download any group or picture messages since my phone updated last Friday. I have looked through the settings to see if the update changed something but I am unable to figure it out.
I have removed my SIM card and also changed my message settings back to the default settings and still can't download MMS messages.
Try going into settings-tap More under Wireless Networks-Mobile Networks-System Select-change Network Mode to LTE/CDMA from Global.

I use my MMS messaging all the time. Let's get that working properly for you. Are you able to send a MMS or Group Message? Go to Settings> Application Manager> All> Messaging. Tap Clear Data and restart your phone.

Just fixed that on my wife's phone.
Open Messenger. Under the three dots click Settings. Under Storage check Text Message limit and Multimedia message limit. Hers were probably default at 560 and 6౦.
Change the numbers to 1000 and 250. Then make it a habit to delete old messages once in awhile.
