Moto X Pure and upgrading from Device payment plan

Right now I have my Galaxy S5 on the device payment plan and "My Verizon" tells me, enough has been payed off I can trade in if I want. So when the Moto X pure comes out will there be anyway to trade in for a Moto X pure and start a new device payment for the Moto X pure.

The Moto X Pure is available only from Motorola, Amazon, and Best Buy. Motorola is not offering it through any carriers.

This is my dilemma too. My current device payment plan is eligible for upgrade and I want the Moto X Pure, but I'm not going to buy it outright from Motorola, then keep paying Verizon for the old phone I'm not using anymore. The reason I went with the device payment plan was so I could trade in my old phone for a new one. I've tried asking Motorola if they will consider selling through carriers because of this scenario too, but haven't gotten any responses.

yeah you have to pick out one from vzw lineup to do that. not sure if pure will function on vzw network

Yeah I don't know why Motorola only sells the unlocked version. They did it for last Gen moto x
