Gs4 shutting down for no reason

Hey all I am having trouble with this phone again... After this new software update once in a while my phone will suddenly go black and turn off... it has done this 3 times on me and the only way I can seem to get it to stay on is by plugging it in for a while and turning it on... Any help of suggestions are always greatly appreciated...

How long have you had the phone? How old is the battery? Did you perform a factory reset after the update?

I got the phone in January after my last s4 junked on me the battery was new in march I do believe and no I have not done a factory reset because I haven't really had the time to try and find something to backup all of my photos contacts etc too...

I just had it happen to me again it'll get down to around 15 percent and when it tries to pop up the low battery notification it goes black vibrates and it's off... the only way to get it to come out is to plug it in and let it charge till 50 percent otherwise it will shut down again and drop to 5 percent.... I don't know if it the battery again or what please help it get old quick because this is an every time it gets low type of problem.

I would try a new battery if you have one, or go into a Verizon store and see if they have one for you to try. I'd also check the charger on it; though that's just as an added effort as I don't think it's the cause. I'd also still consider a factory reset if that doesn't work or if Verizon doesn't have any suggestions.
