Annual Upgrade

I've reserved a 6s Plus at my local apple store. I thought about their device payment plan, but the Verizon payment plan is a little cheaper, although theirs does have AppleCare+. I just saw that Verizon announced an annual upgrade program for iPhones.

Does anyone know if you have to do anything special to be in the annual upgrade program? Or is every new iPhone on device payment plan after 9/25 automatically enrolled?

Anyone that preordered the iPhone 6s or 6s plus will automatically be enrolled in the program. Only applies to those that purchase the S-series iPhones and you can upgrade every year if you have paid half of the retail cost of that iPhone.
