I have tried soft restart, get nothing. I tried power cycle and it returns to the same frozen screen.
Thanks for giving that a try, chad1019. It was a great place to start. I want to be sure we try a few more things to get your phone running properly again. Do you recall any changes right before this happened, such as a software update or application install? When you tried to restart the phone, did you do it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears then releasing the buttons? What exactly appears on your screen when it boots back up?
