Samsung Note 5 taking 8 hours to charge?!?!

I got my Note 5 back on September 11th. Orginially the fast charging worked fine. I was getting a full battery in less than two hours. Lately, its just been taking longer and longer until last night it said it would take 8 hours and 17 minutes! I know what you're thinking I was using the wrong charging cable or adapter. Wrong, I was using the same everything since I got the phone. I havent dropped the phone yet or gotten it wet. I really dont want to have to wait an entire night for my phone to charge. Help! Thank you.

peanutandmax, oh my! 8 hours and 17 minutes is a long time. Let's speed this up. Have you tried a different outlet? We also encourage you to power the device off and back on. This can always help. Keep us posted on your progress.

I tried a factory reset, changing the outlet, and turning off the device during charging. Unfortunately nothing has worked.

Can you borrow or get a new charger? In my case I left my OEM charger at in-laws, so tried using my old i-fone adapter and my old wire/cable. It charged but took almost as long as yours. Was told that the specs of i-fone charger not very compatible tho albeit, charged very slowly. When I got my OEM back one can very well appreciate it, takes less than 1/2 hr. To fully charge. Life is "wonderful" now.

Could be yours just became defective.

Same issue with my Note 5. Tried New oem samsung cord and charger, different outlets, reboot....Samsung is useless. After 40hrs of exploring i was told by Verizon it will be fixed in the next update; it was a software issue. NOT, i received update 2 days ago to no avail. Also smart switch does not see my Note 5. As soon as Apple does a 'note pen' I'm moving to the dark side. This is my last ditch effort.

The Apple Pencil for a phone won't be simple enough. With Apple rumored to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, I'm not sure where they're going to find room to fit a pencil. A bit O/T. But I'm being as realistic as possible.

Besides, and I know it may be a bit of a stretch, but you can use a stylus on an iPhone just fine. My other device is a note 4, so I got used to having a pen.
