I am a loyal customer of Verizon- almost 9 years and always paid on time and full! Late last year my phone broke and so I go to one of their stores and asked for a new phone .
I SPECIFICALLY asked for a basic phone. No internet please! I have wifi at home and don't need internet on the go. They give me a phone, tried to activate it several times , failed and asked me to try activating it the next day. After several attempts the next day, it worked and to my dismay the phone they gave me was a smartphone and I will be automatically billed $30.00 for internet. THEIR MISTAKE NOT MINE!! I asked them to revert it to a basic phone and they did BUT the charges for the internet can not be removed
It is an epic story of how they tried to correct the mistake. They tried and tried but again FAILED! To the credit of the customer service personnel they did their best to help, but VERIZON SYSTEM does not allow it. Who does that?
Men have gone to the moon and Mars , and smartphones are really ,really SMART now and they can"t rectify a mistake they made and even make their customers PAY FOR IT??
Through all these stress, I was paying a whopping $45.00 monthly for a service I don't use and can't use bec. its now just a basic phone.
So yesterday , after 11 months , I finally gave up trying and I decided to cancel my subscription. You think the least they can do is just NOT charge the cancellation fee of $240.00 or at least give me a discount? NO NO NO!!! Their system won't allow it! Where is their supervisor in all these? won't even speak to me . In the multitude calls I made, I asked to speak to their supervisor and their convenient excuse is always: he is in a meeting or out.
So Verizon -what's up? I thought you could do much better! Your system needs to be CHANGED because you will be losing good customers like me.
