I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue with Verizon. Back in April I called Verizon to upgrade my voice minutes because I had gone over. The customer service rep informed me that there was a special promotion going on that allowed me an extra ?? minutes ( I can't remember how many maybe 50-100). So she could just apply that and I wouldn't need to upgrade for that pay period. Perfect! Or so I thought. About 6 months after that I called Verizon about another issue and was told my phone was under contract. I can't be I told them. My phone has been out of contract for a year or more. They then informed me that when I agreed to allow the service rep to bonus me extra minutes back in April I had gone under a new 1 year contract. What?? No one ever mentioned a contract to me before this I informed her. I also told her that I wasn't showing that I was receiving any extra minutes on my bill it always says I have my regular amount of minutes. Then I was explained that the extra 100 minutes where "ghost" minutes that didn't show up on my bill and were applied first before my regular 700 minutes started being used. I argued that I wanted to be released from this contract since I never agreed to it. I even asked her to go back and listen to the phone conversation to confirm my story and was told that they had just undergone a system upgrade and lost all recorded phone calls and did not have access to them anymore. She refused to let me out of my contract. Has my beloved Verizon resorted to shady business practices??? Has anyone else felt like they have been duped by Verizon? I have been a long time customer of Verizon and I am appalled at their poor customer service especially for a loyal customer.
