I have been along time Verizon Wireless user. When I first started using Verizon the customer service was great. I usually have the very typical problems people have online and in stores with lengthy waits, etc.
During Christmas Verizon wronged me terribly bad and I never even received a apology.
My phone was broken before Christmas, I drove over and hour to my nearest store to purchase the new phone, they managed to sell my 8 year old daughter an Ellipsis 10 with my phone and I was alright with that because it was almost Christmas and I really wanted to get her a fun toy up until Christmas, although its bad business practice to sell children things like they did and probably illegal when it really comes down to it.
I bought these devices on a Thursday and the tablet itself was crashing nonstop for my daughter from the moment we started using it. I wasted far too much time on the phone with customer service before they told me, "You purchased this within a week ago, just return it to the store you purchased for a replacement".
I called the store but no answers, I got to customer service who told me just go into the store.
I drove another hour out to the same store on the following tuesday, waited almost 30 minutes when they assured me it would me 10 minutes, only to have the employee tell me he "thinks" he just sold the last one. He walked to the back and came back 2 minutes later saying no luck, maybe I should have tried calling in advance to ensure they had one in stock or just try another store. I informed him what had happened and that I tried to call the store and he said that it was holiday season and there was nothing he could do.
When I arrived home again and contacted customer service very upset, a representative told me he would take take of me. within about 10 minutes he told me he found a store that had plenty, the ironic thing is, the store was the exact store I was just at.
I drove to the store on the same day and they basically handed me the device and said barely anything and I walked out finally with a device that worked.
On a side note that Ellipisis 10 and my new Droid Turbo 2 devices are incredible and great value, however Verizon has treated me and my family so poorly over these last few years and this will be the last contract I sign with Verizon.
My advice to others to avoid this nightmare if you insist on staying with Verizon. Research other places to buy your phones and tablets and activate them yourself. It is much easier than you think and if you have any small problems just contact Verizon to help you with those small problems instead of having to go into a store where their number 1 priority is getting you out of the store for the next customer, and not actually helping you.
