No incoming calls or texts on ported number

I just recently switched to Verizon from AT&T (as in yesterday, 9/10) and have not been able to receive incoming calls. I have been able to send and receive texts from some people (whom I am assuming have Verizon) but not everyone has received my texts or vice versa. I did port my number over and have seen some things about it taking up to 72 hours to complete but none of the articles have been recent..

Just wanted to be sure nothing was wrong with my new service.

Also, the device is an LG G4.

I had the same problem. I recently switched to Verizon from At&t, but decided to keep my original phone number. Apparently this is called “port” or “porting over your phone number” and could only send/receive texts to certain people and make limited calls. Certain people could call me successfully while others could not.

I called Verizon wireless and was explained that in order to finish porting over my phone number, they needed the account number from my previous carrier (At&t). The account number I had been initially using was Located on a previous statement from At&t. This is NOT the correct account number. The Verizon representative explained that this was a “foundational” account number, and they needed the “wireless” account number that you would need to call your original carrier to get. Or you could give them the last 4 digits of the previous primary account holders SSN from your original carrier. (Which is what I did) Once this is done, you are instructed to turn off your wifi and then restart your phone.

Doesn't hurt to call Verizon to verify, usually it takes place instantly but can take longer in some instances (many factors including company porting in from). I have also heard of people running into issues where something went wrong during the account setup and just needs to be fixed on Verizon's end.

Call 800-922-0204; Press 2 then 0# then 0 then 0 then 0# then 0#. EXISTING CUSTOMERS press 1 then press 4, then say "Customer Service" then wait and enter last four of social security number

That suggestion was not a solution. The problem still persists. Customer Services seems extremely perplexed with this issue. Is there anyone out there that can help?

I am having the same issue and when I called the automated number provided above it reported that the PIN I provided from my previous carrier was incorrect. I wish I had been told that before I left the store yesterday.

I completed the process over the phone with a representative and we restarted my phone and confirmed my phone was activated by making a call out and I didn't realize that I was not getting calls. I have waited for several days and then have been in chats because the phone hold is very very long and the chat agents are clueless. They ask if phone is unlocked or if there is something wrong with the device. I have not received a confirmation that the port is complete via email and my frustration has me so upset, I don't even want to switch carriers anymore. Yet, I can't get help with that either. Customer service seems to stink no matter what carrier you go with so why pay the extra money with Verizon? I may as well stay with Sprint!
