My calls are not going through to the other phone on my account

My husband and I are on the same account with Verizon Wireless. Every time he calls me or I call him it never goes through on the first ring. It will usually take at least 3 phone calls to get through to him and vice versa. We have the same phone, HTC OneM8, however, this has been going on since before we had the same phone. It only happens when we call each other, which is very disconcerting, because should an emergency arise from either one, we may not be able to get in contact with one another. There is not direct email address on Verizon's Website, so I'm hoping to have some resolution through this forum.

So the call goes through it just takes a extra ring? Delete each other as a contact and reset both phones, then re add the contacts and try again

It rings 4 times and it goes to his voicemail, and vice versa for me. You try again and does the same thing. Then on the 3rd attempt (sometimes longer than that) you will finally get through and ask the other did it ring before just now... the response is always NO. I will try this though, thank you for the help. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
