not receiving all text messages

My Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge is not receiving all text messages being sent.  I receive some but not all.  It is not any particular person or any particular carrier or any particular time of day.  They show up in my Verizon message log but not on my phone.  I have had people confirm they sent me the messages.  How do I get those missed messages and how do I correct this issue?
