I switched from AT&T to Verizon Wireless in December and I'm experiencing terrible LTE performance on my bus route and near my office in Pittsburgh.
I work at [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] , and my phone is practically useless at street level for 2 blocks in any direction.
I ride the bus from [removed] on the East End Busway into Wilkinsburg, through Regent Square, and finally to Swissvale.
The busway's speed is good until reaching Negley Station. Performance dips until passing East End station and then is fine until exiting the busway at Wilkinsburg.
Once the bus leaves the busway after Wilkinsburg Station, performance becomes abysmal, and stays horrible throughout the ride through Wilkinsburg and Regent Square (which is a big chunk of my commute). I have anywhere between 2 bars and 4 bars the entire time (dB is between -110 and -77). Performance doesn't improve until reaching Monongahela Ave. in Swissvale, which is almost at my home.
I ran Speedtest throughout my commute today. LTE Speeds were:
[removed]: 3.58 Mbps down / 4.40 up
Busway before Negley: 19.38 down / 14.83 up
Busway at Negley through East End: 4.69 down / 6.36 up
Busway after East End: 25.86 down / 9.59 up
Exiting Busway through Regent Square: 0.58 down / 0.18 up
Leaving Regent Square to home: 26.98 down / 14.96 up
To cover the basics: I have a brand new iPhone 6s, I've rebooted it, it's running iOS 9.2, I've tried taking off my case, and I've checked the Cellular settings to make sure LTE is selected for data.
