My employer has given me an iphone, with Verizon. I want to cancel the line for my personal phone, but keep the account because my wife is still on it. How does this work?
You'll cancel the line by calling Verizon and this will leave the account as is and active with only the wife's line active. Be mindful of ETF and penalties if under contract or using a device which is not yet paid off.
tjustice1012, we're sad to hear that want to cancel that line. Do you know of anyone that would be willing to assume responsibility of that line? For example, our employer can transfer that line into their business name.

Although someone could AOL that line and share the account with the OP's wife....it is a personal line, NOT a business line. The OP's employer would no doubt frown upon giving the OP a new line AND taking over his personal line. I also doubt Verizon as your employer would take over the customer's line.
IIt's a little fuzzy what the goal is... Are you keeping your number? Is your employer taking it over?
IF your emloyer is taking over your personal line, you and the employer want to fill out an assumption of liability.
If you will have a new business line you can save your personal phone number by porting to google voice. (One phone, two numbers. Transfer your number to Google Voice - Google Voice Help )
