Any Streaming Services that don't count again Data?

I contacted VZW Customer Care, and asked the same question, and was told to download the Go90 app. I was informed by VZW Customer Service that videos and content viewed through the Go90 app DID NOT count against you monthly data usage. I later found out, through the VZW Go90 FAQ's that it does in fact count against your data usage.

So, hopefully somebody here can answer the question more honestly?

I ask because I am currently on a 20GB plan, and need to reduce my bill. Data is killing my cost. I've looked at alternatives like getting a hotspot through another carrier that would cost $35 a month for 6GB of data, AND it offers unlimited streaming of music and video through services like iheartradio, slacker, Samsung Milk Music, pandora, siriusXM, netflix, hulu, etc. It's actually a really good deal- and truth is, I could save 70 bucks on my data on VZW and get an 18GB plan on a wifi hotspot that is actually cheaper.

So, there's the scenario, and I gotta say - I don't know why VZW isn't partnered with some music streaming services that might help customers with their data plan usage.

Verizon has announced plans to consider "Zero Rating" certain video services, with Go90, Verizon's own Streaming platform being amongst them. This is in a trial phase and has not been publicly launched. I suspect until the FCC and *****'s probe at T-Mobile's Binge On service completes, Verizon may hold off on the launch to starve off any legal repercussions, which will get expensive.

For now if you rely on zero rated data for video streaming due to lack of Wi-Fi availability or other reasons, you may want to look into T-Mobile for Binge On/Zero Rating support, or a Sprint MVNO which offers unlimited hotspot service (these guys in particular: Karma | Take WiFi with you on the go. ). The T-Mobile Binge on Service when active, will throttle all video traffic to 1.5Mbps, but can be turned off you prefer watching full quality against the data cap. Many music services like Pandora are zero rated, meaning they don't count against the cap. On Karma, the catch is that your speeds are limited to 2-3Mbps on LTE if you buy the unlimited data plan. Not enough to really watch HD video, but enough if you like streaming music and all.

I don't know if Verizon is still doing the promotional 2GB data, but if you download and run the Go90 app it'll boost your data plan for the month with an extra 2GB.
