I have a Samsung galaxy s4 and my number comes up as unknown caller on my son's iphone 5s even though my number is in his contacts.
We want to ensure your son knows when you are calling. Let's look into this & see what is going on. Is it just your son's phone that your number shows up as "unknown" or is it on other people's cell phones/landline's as well? How long has your number been showing unknown? Is this something new occurring or has it been like this for a while?

We just got the iPhone 5S for him last month and it's been going on ever since. I put my number and saved it in his contacts, but it still comes up as unknown caller. My wife is in his contacts and she comes up with no issues. I'm saved in my wife's contacts and there is no issue with hers.
