Car Navi bluetooth disconnects/reconnects

2013 Honda Civic paired with Galaxy s4. Phone will disconnect/reconnect  constantly.  Connection may disconnect/reconnect at variable intervals every  minute  or it may be 5 minutes.  My wife's Galaxy s3 works perfectly

I unpaired, cleared phones bluetooth  cache, turned phone off & took battery out for a few minutes. I paired  phone again, same problem

There seems to be a lot of similar  complaints. I am running on 5.0.1

Being able to utilize your car's bluetooth is a must these days. How long has your device been like this? Did anything change on your phone before this began: any software updates or new apps downloaded? Have you tested out any other bluetooth's to see how you device is with them?
