Why is the "Switch To" program so inefficient? Why does it take 15 days for the largest carrier in the world to look over documentation? After 15 days, I resubmit all DOCS and again wait the 15 days. No notifications from Verizon, no e mail! Id love that gift card in order to pay ATT the 700 i owe them. Was not expecting to get jerked around! My account is in good standing and i did my part.. now what?

Well, that's not how the program works. You have to pay the final bills out of your own pocket, wait the time limit they give you for service, then you receive the gift cards or bill credits. This is in the program terms and conditions.

How long does it take to receive my gift card or credit for a trade-in?

If you turn in your device at a Verizon store, you can get an instant appraisal and a credit while you wait. If you choose to trade in online, expect your gift card (for guest users) at least two weeks from the time Verizon receives your device, or your credit (for My Verizon users) within 1-3 bill cycles after appraisal. Overall, the entire process generally takes 4 to 6 weeks.

I Was just about to post the same thing. We are having the same trouble. 15 days to open the email and 15 days to update account is ridiculous. I resubmitted on 2/6 and my account still has not been updated. I've emailed again with no response. I have even called that useless number where you wait on hold for 90 minutes. I'm not paying my old carrier out of my pocket. I switched four lines and i am not paying $800 out of my pocket. verizon needs to stop stalling and pay out what they owe customers under this promotion.

The promotion is to pay and reimbursed. Of course you can wait for reimbursement and pay but by then have been sent to the credit bureau. It's in the terms and conditions. Read next time you look at a promotion.

I love it. "Read the fine print!" What a joke. We shouldn't have to. I did t expect ti get BS from the largest carrier in the world. Your marketing folks may be making you money now, but they are giving people like me every reason to look for something better and never come back. You should just apologize and make it right and not play the, "ha we got ya" role but turning blame. Shame on you. I'll pay my other bill and when I leave Vzw, I'll continue to warn people about this desperate promotion! What a crock

You may want to warn customers of other carriers too since their pay to switch promotions work the same way. None of them pay immediately. All of them can take 6-8 weeks or more. So ultimately those that use the promotions end up in the same boat...having to choose go either pay their old carrier out of pocket or risk late fees and/or collection fees as well as negative reporting on their credit.

well mine has been over 8 weeks and is still not processed. And no that's not how all carriers work. Here's a little history...we had Verizon for 10 years and switched to Sprint to have a lower bill. We only had one phone that would have an ETF and Sprint paid that by issuing us a prepaid card. I had the prepaid card from Sprint in 7 weeks And I used it to pay Verizon. There was no 15 days to open the email and another 15 days to update. By the way I'm on day 30 and it's not updated...over 8 weeks in total time. We switched back to Verizon for the "better network and coverage". Sprint got it right and Verizon can't. So i am going back to those terms and conditions and re read to find where it states that it takes 15 days to open an email and 15 days to update. Maybe those terms and conditions will explain why customer service can't say anything other than "I wish I could help Please resend the email".

Sounds like the VZW advocates are a bunch of 7th graders! I switched on 5 January. Status still says invalid. No excuses, no clarifying info. Just invalid. Complete garbage

We switched in December and our stuff is still not processed. I received an "invalid" after checking on it and never receiving any notification, like I was told. I have had to pay out of pocket, which is fine, I know I will soon be reimbursed (hopefully). It has been over 8 weeks, but I had to resubmit all my information. I called the number we are provided on the switch website, went through a few menus and hit the numbers needed to get me to correct screen and was told the number was not a working number. We chose to get the GC instead of the credit when we traded in our phones in store, I wish I would have taken the credit instead. It is what it is, I suppose.

Although, it is a crazy process and sort of annoying, remember that it is only up to $650 and no more than that. I know you said in your original post $700. We also switched to Verizon and had around $317 in fees.

I'm tracking on the max. I actually paid att 840 today! That hurt. If VZW ever gets in gear, maybe I can recoup some of that. If I ever do, I'll let it be known so others can judge their wait time.

I think a big thing is the communication with the Verizon sales reps. I think we must have been the first couple this guy had helped to do the switch program and he had to keep looking at notes. He never said anything about the 45 days of service, the way he made it sound was that the gift card should come soon when we did it, which is why we also opted to take the gift card instead of the credit right then and there for the phones we traded in. He was great to deal with but a lack of communication on that part. Which I know the biggest thing is that fine print.

I have the same issue! It's been over 15 days since I submitted the correct receipt. No update on status yet it still shows as invalid. Called customer service last week and rep stated that I needed to resubmit because I had sent the incorrect one, when i resubmitted the correct one like 4 times already. i resubmitted again and still no update on my status. I called last night was on hold for 1 hr and then the call got disconnected. I think I'm going to small claims with is. It is getting ridiculous!!!!

I submitted my Final Bill along with a trade in receipt. The trade in receipt apparently did not have the information needed. So I submitted the correct one that included the Serial#'s to the devices I traded-in. I have sent it over 4 times since Feb 8th and no changes on my status. I received 2 e-mail's one o the 15th and 16th of Feb thanking me for submitting correct information and to allow 15 days for an update on my status. Well it has been over 15 days with my status still at INVALID status.

IS there another phone number or other contact you can refer us to? The phone number you provided is no help. We wait on hold for 90 minutes just to be told there's nothing that can be done and resubmit the final bills. When we resubmit our emails are never replied to or acknowledged. Verizon is playing games and there's got to be someone that can help us customers. This is really no way to treat customers.
