Caller ID issue when calling out of state

When I make a phone call from my cell phone out of state, my caller id information is blocked / not shown on the receiver's phone even though they have me in their contact list. If I make a call from my home state, it is not blocked and shows up on receiver's phone. I don't have my caller id information blocked. Has this happened to anyone before and how do I fix this?

Thank you for responding to my issue. When I call someone from my home state of PA my caller Id comes up on the recipients phone normally, with my name, however if I am travelling in another state and I call the same people my number shows up on their phone as restricted number. These are calls on my contact list and I am on theirs. This has happened when I travelled in NJ, FL, and CA but I assume it would happen from any out of state location. It has happened on multiple numbers. My husband's phone, my brother's phone and my best friend's phone to name a few . I know I am on their contact lists. What could cause this?

I can understand the importance of having your phone calls showing the correct number in case of an emergency. Has this always been an issue? Are your phone numbers stored with the full number including the area code?

Yes, this has always been an issue. It happened with my last phone from Verizon and now it is happening with the new phone. Could a setting have been cloned over from the old one? All of my contact number's have area codes.
