A person in the forums is representing himself as a customer service rep here and is trying to get a billing password from me in a private message.
Security is our top priority Chris_H. I'm deeply sorry that someone is trying to obtain your billing password. I'd like to send you a private message to get more details and help get this lifted up to management. I'll be looking forward to your response.

Has a VzW rep responded in a thread indicating they would send you a direct message for follow-up, or is it a rep that you've had a discussion with in a thread? Does the person sending you the private message have a user name that ends with _VZW (Verizon reps are identified by their names and avatars)? A Verizon rep needs to verify that you are you before they can access your account information and would therefore ask for your billing password just like they would if you were to call Customer Service. If you are uncomfortable responding to the message, you can always contact Customer Service directly.
The message has a name with vzw in the title and is supposed to be in response to a question I posted earlier. However, there was no indication in the thread anyone would message me and it came unannounced. My concern is that this person has twice requested a billing password when my issue is a technical, not a billing question. When I have not given it on two occasions, the person stops responding.
It pays to be cautious. They may have stopped responding since you didn't provide a response. VzW rep stevenm_vzw indicates they are sending you a Direct Message; hopefully you'll get things squared away with them.
I did respond, but just questioned the need for the password. That seems to be the stumbling block for this person.
