Verizon Cruise ship plan?

I am going on the Disney Fantasy and will probably purchase the Verizon plan with 100 minutes talk and 100mb data. I don't want to return to outrageous bills so what will I have to do or turn off on my IPhone5S so I don't roam but that I could still call out and also use my data? Also can people call in to me on the ship and it goes against my 100 minutes?

Probably only 10 minutes or so a day for the 7 day cruise. Need to check on family members at home. I know 100mb is not much but I'm more concerned that I don't get a huge bill because I forgot to turn off something. We are going to St Thomas but only one day there and one day at Tortola. I don't expect to have to call from there.

Thanks for offering these helpful details. I understand how important it is to stay connected while so far from home. The $40.00 will allow 100 minutes, 100 messages and 100MB while on the ship and in Tortola. St Thomas will recognize your normal plan for messaging and data so considered domestic with only the 100 minute allowancehaving to apply here. What model is your phone as a we can discuss the proper settings to avoid charges for data?

I have an iPhone 5S phone that I will be using. If I sign up for the cruise package plan do I need to change my Verizon phone service plan I currently have or will it just be an add on?
