At the Orange County Fair on August, 15, 2015, I purchased two new LG4 phones and was persuaded to add two tablets for free over a two year contract. Ever since I got the LG G Pad refurbished tablet I have had recharging issues and last week it kept turning off and on as well as not charging properly. I took it to the store and they could not repair it. They had me talk to Tech Support and eventually they said it would have to be sent back to LG for either repair or replacement and since it was less than one year, it would be covered under warranty. I received a box in the mail from Verizon with a prepaid package to send to LG which I sent in.
Today I received a call from Jocelyn in LG, and followed up with David, saying they repaired it and I would need to pay $72 for the repair. I told them it was covered under warranty and explained how I got the tablet from Verizon. They said their records showed it was two years old and out of warranty (of course it was two years old, it was refurbished!). They wanted a copy of the purchase agreement.
I contacted Verizon and spoke at first with Adam, then Jeff in Tech Support and they said that there must have been an error somewhere and I would need to send the purchase agreement document as requested. All of this took over one hour after I had finished a fourteen hour shift working in an Intensive Care Unit! I am extremely angry to say the least! This should never have happened! Verizon needs to do a better job of communicating with LG to ensure that other customers do not go through what I went through! To make matters worse, I found it very difficult navigating the Verizon website to lodge my complaint. Why is that!?! I have been a Verizon customer since 1986, spent countless thousands of dollars on this company and I have never been so angry and frustrated with the service!!!
